Hey guys, I had a free host a few days ago and I got ezportal+smf working easy not i'm having a slight problem when i upload the ezportal zip from my desktop it says: You cannot download or install new packages because the Packages directory or one of the files in it are not writable!
And when i drop the zipped file in my ftp in the packages dir it tells me that i need to make certain files writeable but some of the files are outside of the package dir and I never put them there, any help :)?

You should just reset the file permissions and it should be ready to go.
-
Sorry to be a noob, but how do i "reset the file permission"
-
Under Admin -> Package Manager -> Options
-
I went there and typed in my ftp port + user when i press save nothing seems to be happening + i'm still getting the same problem with installing ezportal
*edit* heres a screenshot from my SMF permissions http://i.imgur.com/IhYBv.jpg

It seems that it was a problem with my browser cache, i've got it installed now but the icons for ezportal are missing, any suggestions :)?
My website is here: http://www.ravagedgaming.com/

Yeah i can confirm there is a problem, here is a screenshot below of a test website i have on the left and my actual website on the right, the icons for posting are missing such as html etc, and the edit/delete icons next to the ezblock are missing.

On your website do you have an ezportal folder? That is where the icons are stored there should be an icons forum in there
-
I'm seeing the icons, but how do i apply them to the website?
Heres what the ezblocks look like http://imgur.com/RSxnh
-
Ok under admin -> EzPortal Settings make sure you ezportal url is set to http://ravagedgaming.com/ezportal/
-
Yes it is, on my ftp my ezportal.zip file is in ravagedgaming.com/packages/ but EzPortal Path has it set to ravagedgaming.com/ezportal/
Could that be causing problems?
*edit* and to confirm that by the image folder you meant to go into the package manager and view files like so: http://i.imgur.com/Ab9EF.jpg ?

Sent you a PM.

Ok looks like the you need to unzip ezportal on your computer. Then reupload the ezportal folder to the website.
-
I took down the zip, and i opened the ZIP on my desktop and zipped it into a ezportal desktop and uploaded
-
make sure it is unzipped you need to upload the ezportal folder to the yoursite unzipped
-
should i unzip and drop all the files into packages, or unzip the files into a folder and upload the folder?
-
sent you another PM
