How to adjust the ezblocks width:
« on: May 06, 2010, 06:45:33 pm »
How to adjust the ezblocks width:

Go to your SMF Admin section or control panel and under EzPortal>
select "ezblock Manager" > then you will find the following:

Left - Edit Column
Center - Edit Column
Right - Edit Column
Top - Edit Column
Bottom - Edit Column

Click on the "Edit Column" link for the ezblock you want to change!>
Now an Edit Column window will open with the options that may be varied.

Example:

Column Title       Left
Column Width   (This selects pixels)
Column Width Percent  (this selects percentage of the total board wrapper)

Example, left and right both set at 20 percent will give you 60 percent left over for your center block...
but note that 20 percent is way too big I think maybe 12-15 percent should
do or less if your board has a small total width like 80% - 85% total board body width....

Note column percent overrides column width. Needs to be greater than zero
Enabled

User can collapse
Visible Areas
Update Visible Options

When finished with your change click the "Edit Column" button! to save changes!

Please note that I recommenced that if you want left and right blocks visible on your main
categories, then you should adjust if possible your total "Theme" wrapper or body width
to 95-100 percent, via your Theme Index.CSS.

There are many ways/features to work with your ezportal and the ezblocks, and I have
mine set so that the right block is off when viewing a post or thread!

Please do some exploring...and testing of these features and you will surprise yourself!
Hope this helps! any questions please ask!

Just want to add the top and bottom should be let alone they will be fine in most cases!

regards,
Maxx

What would be great is two or three things I have in mind right off:
1 a Wish list
2 a How TO's section we can build on and refer visitors to to keep from repeating ourselves!
and will also help you deride what you'd like to add or subtract to your documentation and also you could start a FAQ section off of this... if you have not these already!

Maxx
