Title: TOP block
Post by: Eddy Matthews on October 30, 2009, 04:10:54 pm
Would it be possible to make the TOP block so that it displays ABOVE the SMF header?

I tried it today, and it displays below the SMF header which isn't what I was expecting :(

I don't know if that is possible as it runs under SMF, but it would certainly be a lot more useful that way IMHO.

Regards
Eddy

I am not the programer but I am going wager that the answer would be NO.  It would be great to be able to do that, then you could do an HTML block  and design your header easier.

I think you are using the default theme, right.  There are some great ready made themes on the SMF site and having tried almost all for my version of SMF, 2 RC 1.2, I have found several by one designer that captures the EZPortal forum button that are installed to the default theme.  Also, the gallery button, staff, arcade etc if you have these installed as mods to your forum.

Let me know if you are interested in these and I will advise from my experience.

You can design a header in a photo editing program, upload it to your server, then in the current theme section of your admin, put in the URL of the header in the text box which asks for it and there is your header.

I don't think it will be possible either Marian, but you never know unless you ask - It would be great if it could!

I've just about sorted out how to ditch all of the SMF header stuff - All I need to complete the change is for the Register bit to be put into the Portal UserBox, but I need vbgamer to do that as I'm certainly no programmer!!

Well, good luck and I will certainly be following along.  I am no programmer either and just know the basic but I do use a HTML editor by Coffee Cup which makes it so much easier for someone of my in-experience.  ;)
