Title: The Asylum
Post by: Marian on September 01, 2009, 05:27:23 am
I wish to present my site powered by EZPorta which I now use having left another well known portal.  This EZPortal lives up to the name EZ.  I also loved the built in blocks that require no coding.

My forum is a paranormal/roleplay discussion board.  I call it, The Asylum.  Here is a link.

Looks great. Like all the custom blocks that you have setup on your site. I like how you have an intro page then go down just to the shoutbox/forum when inside your forum. The colors/theme on the site work well.

Thank you for the kind words.  The block themselves is what makes the site unique, I think, you can individualized your site with them.

Wow, I would love to have you as a member, thank you for looking it over.  I guess I am on the fence about ghosts because like you I think that what we are seeing as ghosts might be angels or demons.

Yes, so am I.  I attend church Sunday and Wednesday.  I am Baptist.  I know paranormal and Christianity don't seem to go hand and hand but you must remember the power of God and the supernatural.

oooooooooo now you got me going on this one hehe! Subject is close to my heart as i am a big believer! I also do tarot readings, which hardly ever let me down!

If there can be demons out there as you say, why not the rest of the spiritual beings and the elders and the like, if there is room for one, there is room for all.

lol hehe I also am in partnership with a friend on a spiritual forum!

The server was down earlier, but here is a direct link to the forum.

The link in my profile is to my main web site that I use to promote my book.  The forum should behave the same as yours.

I am on shared hosting with Host MDS, which means the server can easily be overloaded.  That was the case the other day.  What caused it or whom, I never learned.  But I suspected someone running scripts that hog the servers CPU. If a client is caught doing so, there is a penalty if not a disbandment or even having their account canceled and then they must purchase a higher volume account.

You are so correct on this and it is something that, needs to be looked in to by the hosting company, troubles like this are cause by my things like any site that may have too many people hitting submit buttons too many times because they are on a slow ISP, and some sites have chats and some with old type Java Chat boxes that really hog the CPU and Ram of the server.

The Host needs to isolate the hog and get them to change their method, but then again on a shared host you have to expect, times of over load..Because most host, not all but most will push them to the limit.

And as Jake and You Yourself mentioned , it needs to be reported every time it happens, so maybe they can pin point the abuser of Hog!

And If your paying more than around 7-10 per moth with a contract, you may want to consider changing, if you need help with this please let me know!

regards,
Maxx

I am paying 7.95 per month payment in on lump sum at the beginning of the renewal year.  It would take a lot for me to switch because of the hassle entailed.  Probably something not within my knowledge to accomplished.

Yes that sounds good...But you'll then need to get with them to see if they may help with the slowness and hang ups or overloads, they may upgrade, if enough complaints, bad news is bad news for them.
