Built in blocks?
« on: November 16, 2009, 04:17:33 pm »
Would it be possible to remove the built in blocks and supply them as seperate EzBlock files?

That would make it a lot easier for those of us that would like to play around with them by adding extra features etc....

For example - I'd like to take the UserBox and add a Register option, and since I use SMF Links, I'd like to add a "My Links" option etc etc. I'd also like to play around with the Menu block.

With the current hard coded setup it's almost impossible for us mere novices to change any of the built in features.

I do hope this request will be given serious consideration. It's also a good way of showing all of the features that EzPortal could be capable of...

Regards
Eddy

Thought about doing that. That was the original plan. But ran into memory/speed issues. Could probably do it for the userbox. The menu box would be tricky since it is a very custom block, along with the shoutbox are two blocks which would be hard to make standalone.

Thanks vbgamer,

The UserBox would be useful so I can play around with it.... it's a pity about the MenuBox, but I understand what you say....

Eddy
