shoutbox not refreshing even with 5 secs set

Hi

I have enabled shoutbox on a frsh install, ezportal is the only plugin installed, when I type and enter something into shoutbox, it does not show until page is refreshed

I have enabled 5 seconds as refresh time and still no joy

Some browsers may not support the way we do the refresh

Haven't tested it with anything greater than firefox 3.6 currently that is the highest version I have installed.

firefox 8 is the newest version... 3.6 is years old
