By default the Top and Bottom Columns are inactive.
To active them you have to click on the edit column link.
For next release I will make it better by having it say whether the column is enabled or disabled on the ezblock manager page.

Yup columns can be disabled and enabled. I am thinking maybe a new interface to allow adding of custom columns! we will see though heh
