RSS Feeds FYI
« on: May 06, 2010, 10:50:05 am »
This is for those whom do not know this, or are new to EZ-Portal and Ez-Blocks>

First I'd like to say that there is a ton of free content out there to suit most any category you can create in your forum and what's so Cool about the EZ-Block Rss Feeds/Block is you parse a xhtml rss feed from most any important site out there, and some with the pictures/images to go with for you left or right side blocks... and along with this you can set them to the relevant Category's you have created.

Example on MY site I have a feed from M$NbC to come up only when the visitor/member is viewing the "World News" Category (thumb images and all) but you can chose what you like in news!

Same thing goes for Hardware news from say Computer world, and Entertainment from hul* or what ever site you like.

Now let's keep in mind that this will will not interfere with your Ads management ( SMF package) if you are using it, you can adjust the position as normal.

This is of the great features of EZ-Blocks, you can have a RSS feed come up to suit any and all categories and you can make.

Note I found that the best way is an xhtml feed!

and if your comes up with images, the link will open a new window but the image will not, so this may be something we can look into.

If you have problems please someone know. I'll be glad to help.
the settings are easy but must be done right! and I'm sure you will figure them out!

I use the feeds mostly on the right hand side!

regards,
Maxx
