What would make this portal very powerful would be articles, much like what is offered in TinyPortal. I know it is a lot of work, but this is one of the things that is holding me back from implementing ezPortal on some of my larger sites (the ones that have over a hundred articles).
Current limitations:
1) Yes, we can associate board items to a center block, but we often may not want to do that. We just want to create content - either with straight HTML or a wysiwyg tool - and point to it in a block link.
2) Yes, we can use pages, but they are limited: a) no comments, b) ugly display, c) to display blocks they all have to be modified to be shown when viewing every page (imagine a site with over 100 pages or articles, that's lots of boxes to click!)
For point 2c, maybe we can have an "all pages" option?
In any case, I recommend ditching pages in favour of flexible ezArticles. Ones that can show up on the front page or not, can be commented on or not, etc.
Again, I know this is a lot of work, but maybe something to think about for 0.5?
Thanks,
Kevin
